I think this is a little overdue but I didn't feel
like telling you about myself in my first blog, so I will tell you all about
myself right now. My name is Jessica Gieselman and I live in Westminster, MD. I
have a younger brother named Bryan who is 16 and a junior in high school. I
started school at William Winchester Elementary where I discovered I wanted to
be a teacher when I grew up. In 4th grade I decided I wanted to play an
instrument so at the music shop I tried a bunch of different instruments. I was
really bad at all of the instruments except for one, the oboe. It was the only
one I could make a sound out of. From then on I continued to play the oboe
throughout middle and high school. Also in 4th grade I started playing
volleyball for a club called MVSA. That stands for Montgomery Village Sports
Association and I played at that club for seven years. Volleyball is a big part
of my life and runs in my family because my parents have been coaching for more
then 20 years, so when I was little I used to play at their practices.
Volleyball continues to be a big part of my life because I now play on the
women's team here at Stevenson. Continuing with school, I attended East Middle
where nothing really important happened during those three years of my life. I
then went to Winters Mill High where I played volleyball and the oboe and
learned more about what I wanted to do with my life in the future. I really
enjoyed taking any class in high school that had to do with teaching and
children because I learned a lot about lesson plans and curriculum. This is
what leads me to now, if you couldn't already tell my major is Elementary
Education and I am working towards getting my Bachelor's so that I can be an
elementary school teacher.
